Our team was responsible for creating CGI in several key scenes of the music video ABYROY feat Imanbek. In this case study, we share the full process of producing CG scenes — from modeling to simulations.

1.Paratrooper scene.

— Airplane texturing.
This scene was created entirely with computer graphics. The imported airplane models differed from the military aircraft of the Republican Guard, so we refined the model and applied realistic textures.
— Scanning and rigging.
We 3D-scanned a real soldier and rigged the model for accurate animation.
— Animation.
We animated the parachute using cloth and wind simulations, combined with an invisible geometric object that helped maintain its shape as it fell under gravity.

2.Explosion scene.

— Modeling.
The scene was fully built in CGI: environment, props, and layout.
— Explosion simulation.
The explosion was created in Embergen, achieving realistic fire and smoke dynamics.

3.Solo paratrooper scene.

— Tracking.
Filmed in the steppe, the goal was to add a parachute to the live-action footage. We tracked the scene to integrate the CG object accurately.
— Simulation.
We modeled the fabric and adjusted size, density, and weight to achieve realistic physics.

4.Pilot scene.

— Modeling.
We modeled a fighter jet identical to the aircraft used by the Kazakhstan Air Force.
— Tracking.
We tracked the scene to integrate a CG helmet and goggles with accurate reflections, including those of a non-existent cockpit.

5.Helicopter scene.

— Modeling.
We modeled a helicopter based on a reference to increase their number in the shot.
— Tracking and animation.
We tracked the live-action scene and animated the rotor blades using mathematically calculated speeds, matching the real helicopter's motion.

6.Final scene.

— Tracking.
Shot on green screen; everything except the five main characters in the foreground was created in CGI.
— Modeling and animation.
Most assets were ready; we created new models only for the military vehicles. Other elements were reused from previous scenes.
