3D Anamorphic CGI Billboard for KFC

We were tasked with creating a bold 3D anamorphic CGI advertisement for KFC. The concept was designed specifically for modern digital billboards.

We presented multiple ideas. Each concept was optimized for strong depth and perspective on 3D screens.

The client chose one of the concepts. They asked us to replace Santa Claus with Colonel Sanders, played by a local influencer and brand ambassador.

How we delivered the project:
We started by performing a full 3D face scan of the influencer. This allowed us to use their facial structure in our CG pipeline.

Next, we created a MetaHuman character. Based on the scan, we built a digital double stylized as Colonel Sanders. We added the iconic mustache and beard and rigged the face for animation.

We also created the Santa costume from scratch. Our team modeled the clothing separately and adjusted it to fit the 3D body.

For the environment, we used existing 3D assets from libraries. Then, we customized the scene to match our storyboard and camera angles.

We added light snowfall using VFX simulation. The particles extended beyond the screen, creating a stronger sense of depth. As a result, the anamorphic effect became more immersive.

The character animation was done entirely by hand. We fine-tuned the movements, expressions, and timing. Later, we refined details in After Effects.

We prepared final renders in multiple aspect ratios and resolutions. This helped us adapt the video to various billboard formats without losing quality.

In the end, we delivered a high-impact CGI ad for KFC. It integrated smoothly with anamorphic digital billboards and delivered a memorable wow effect in urban space.
