On the eve of the World Cup qualifier, the official partner of Kazakhstan's national football team — the betting company Olimpbet — approached us to create a CGI-based XR announcement video.
Objectives:
- Produce a dynamic CG video featuring the new team mascot;
- Highlight the event location — Astana city;
- Emphasize Olimpbet’s active support of the national team.
Together with the client, we developed a storyboard where the key concept featured a giant mascot running through the city toward the stadium to cheer for the team. The visual style was inspired by modern 3D sports promos and brand campaigns.
The entire shoot was completed in a single day, after which the footage was sent to production.
That same evening, we began tracking the objects and preparing the scene for CGI integration.
The mascot was initially provided as a 2D illustration. We fully rebuilt it in 3D: created a detailed model, rigged it with a custom skeleton, tailored CG clothing in the brand’s style, and completed the texturing process.
During the compositing and color grading phase, we assembled the final version of the CG video. At the same time, the team experimented with the mascot’s textures — it took several iterations to achieve the desired visual style.
