CG & VFX for Coca-Cola's Campaign Celebrating Uzbekistan's Historic FIFA World Cup Debut

When the Uzbekistan national football team qualified for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in history, we joined the celebratory commercial as the CG studio behind a Coca-Cola advertising campaign. Our area of responsibility covered computer graphics and compositing (VFX). The lead production company on the project was Creativity, a studio based in Kazakhstan.

Crowd Duplication (Crowd Replication)

One of the key tasks was crowd duplication in the stadium stands — the scene called for the feel of a fully packed, living stadium, which required extensive cleanup work. We worked with the on-field lighting rigs, illuminating the performers at the center while preserving the stadium's dark silhouette for contrast. We also separately balanced the brightness and symmetry of the lighting fixtures around the perimeter — some lamps burned brighter, others dimmer, and some were misaligned — bringing everything into a single, cohesive visual rhythm.

Sky Replacement and Architectural Adjustments

The shooting day stretched from daylight into deep night, so the sky kept changing shot to shot — it had to be fully replaced and brought to a consistent state throughout the entire commercial. We also adjusted the stadium's architecture: some structural elements were compositionally awkward, so we visually refined the proportions to make the frame look more cohesive and expressive.

Match Moving and Cleanup

Another key block of work was frame cleanup and camera tracking: we removed third-party brands, replaced flags with the flags of Uzbekistan, and cleaned up extraneous details in the shot. Tracking was one of the most labor-intensive stages — footballers were constantly moving in the foreground, while the background offered very few reference points for the camera to lock onto, which made stable tracking of the graphics to camera movement especially challenging.
